Dr Munira Motala is a lecturer in the School of Clinical Medicine. Her educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (UKZN); master’s in medical science (UKZN), Diploma in Child Health and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (UKZN). She is a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa as well as a SAFRI fellow. The Sub-Saharan African Regional branch of the FAIMER institute. The foundation of advancement of international medical education and research. She serves in the following committees, the South African Committee of Medical Deans, the College of health Sciences Academic Affairs Board, the School of Medicine Teaching and Learning committee, the School of Medicine Board, the School of Medicine Impairment panel Committee the College of Health Sciences Impairment Committee, the School of Medicine DP appeals Committee as well as the MBChB Program Committee. She is passionate about medical education and research and has presented in both regional and international conferences. Her ongoing research studies are directed towards foreign medical graduates’ acquisition of clinical skills and foreign medical graduates’ adaptation and integration into host country medical environments.
