BIOSKETCH Dr Ravesh Singh serves as a Senior Scientist in the Department of Microbiology at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) in KwaZulu-Natal, where he holds an academic affiliation with the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in Durban, South Africa. In his capacity at the NHLS Microbiology department, Dr Singh contributes to both diagnostic services and research, with his work spanning infectious disease epidemiology, molecular diagnostics, and the control and prevention of infectious diseases. His microbiology expertise is particularly focused on the intersection of laboratory diagnostics and public health, addressing critical areas such as TB-HIV co-infection, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (including MDR-TB), HIV/AIDS pathogenesis, Antimicrobial Resistance and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and emerging infectious diseases.
