BIOSKETCH Dr Mathe is an Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist, and the Acting HOD of the Division of Ophthalmology, at the School of Medicine, UKZN. She has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, and a passion for improving service delivery and enhancing clinical governance in eye care. She is an alumnus of Moorfields Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom, Harvard Medical School, and is currently completing a Masters in Science in Bioethics and Health law, through Wits University. She is a passionate educator and advocate for patient care and education. She is the President and a founding member of Women in Ophthalmology South Africa and the Vice President of the South African Glaucoma Society.
