BIOSKETCH
Passionate about teaching and training and improving haematology services in KZN, Dr Nadine Rapiti led the re-accreditation of haematopathology training by the HPCSA in KZN in 2019, with the goal to have dedicated haematology ward at King Edward Vlll hospital. The Haematology Department has partnered with the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation (BMSF), National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) and the Department of Health to work toward this goal. Under the same project with BMSF, the department launched the Multiple myeloma support group at KEH in March 2023. Dr Rapiti is the Chair of the South African Society of Haematology, Chair of the Haematology Expert Committee, and she is responsible for haemophilia service at King Edward Vlll hospital. Dr Rapiti is also the SA Councilor for International Society of Laboratory Haematology.
